How is the Progressive Web App found on Google and what can I do about it?
SEO - what is this?
SEO (search engine optimization) is the process of optimizing your website or PWA so that it is captured by search engines and lands on higher ranking positions within the organic search results. The goal of SEO is to provide your customers with the most relevant information. The content must be prepared in such a way that customers can immediately find what they are looking for. Keywords or keyword phrases that you place on the pages of your website or progressive web app are suitable for this purpose.
What is the best way to proceed with my web app?
You should first think about what content you want to show your customers on the pages of your PWA and how you link it to suitable keywords. For this you can use various free and chargeable Keyword/SEO tools to look up which keywords are being searched for or to get interesting new keyword suggestions. The Google search can also be helpful here. As soon as you enter a keyword, Google will suggest further keywords that might be relevant for you.
Where can I store the text for search engine optimization?
You can feed your PWA with keywords and keyword phrases to optimize it for search engine optimization. You can do this in your dashboard in the Manage section under Promote > SEO. Here you have a maximum of 300 characters for your SEO text. This serves to explain what your PWA is about and what users can do with it.
Pizza delivery service
A pizza delivery service may have discovered these matching keywords for itself:
- order pizza
- order pizza online
- pizza service
- delivery service
This could look like this, for example:
Shoe shop/Shoe dealer
For example, a shoe shop can include the following keywords within the description text:
- buy shoes online
- buy shoes
- women shoes
- shoes for ladies
- [Brand name] shoes
- men's shoes
Are only the keywords sufficient?
As you saw in the pizza example, it makes sense not to just write the keywords in the field. You should include them in a text that offers your customers exactly the information they are looking for. Here you can also be creative to motivate them even more to call up your PWA. If you have adjusted your text accordingly, confirm the button Save.
Visibility of your PWA
In addition, you should increase the visibility of your PWA by checking the two checkboxes in the Edit section of the Dashboard under Publish > Website to enable Website Visibility and Google Indexing. If users access your PWA from a computer, they will be redirected to the PWA.
If you do not enter anything in the text field, the content of your first module will be taken over automatically. This can sometimes not be helpful for the SEO. E.g. if your first module is the About us module. This will not necessarily be the information you want to send your customers first. Therefore we recommend that you create your own text and add keywords and keyword phrases to it.
