This is how you ensure that your products and services are properly uploaded in these file formats
Uploading a CSV or XLS file
For the catalog modules shop, price list and product catalog you can either manually add a product (Add Product) or select the button Upload File to upload a CSV or XLS file under Collection Items > Add Product. You can choose between "Add to existing data" or "Remove and replace existing data". Once you have chosen one of the two options, there are a few things you should keep in mind.
What does the CSV or XLS file have to look like and what do I have to consider?
You should build your products and services according to a certain scheme and keep it in your file and dashboard. If you add further entries e.g. under the tab Collection Design > Advanced options, they should be based on the spelling in your CSV or XLS file.
In the CSV or XLS file you have the entries: Product name, Product color and Price. If you now manually add another category (in the file or via the dashboard), it should not be called Product_size at once, but Product size. This ensures that all your products and services are displayed correctly in the app or in the corresponding module.
Preparing the CSV and XLS file for addresses
If you put your address in the CSV or XLS file, you first create a column in your file with the name address and add the following:
In your CSV or XLS file this will look like this:
Ringbahnstraße 16, 12099 Berlin, Deutschland
Sometimes it is also necessary to make a more precise assignment of the address. For this the address must be marked with latitude and longitude and a #. It is not uncommon for a city to have several streets with the same name and postcode. Thus you avoid possible mix-ups. In your file it will look like this:
Online you can determine the latitude and longitude. One of these websites is e.g. gps-coordinates.net
Formatting text in CSV or XLS file
If you want to format some texts of your products in your app, so that they are presented appealingly, you can make the following changes in the CSV or XLS file:
For example, to make the product name bold, use the command:
So that there is a gap between the name of the product and the description, use either the
command for break or if you want to add a new paragraph:

Mozzarella and tomatoes

Mozzarella and tomatoes

In your CSV or XLS file it will look like this:
In your app these changes would have the same effect:
You can see that Bruschetta is bold and that there is a gap between the product name and the description.
Keywords in the catalog modules
In the CSV or XLS file you can also create a column called Keywords. In this column you can insert keywords (separated by commas) that describe your products in more detail. Your users can enter these in the module via the magnifying glass icon and thus find the desired product faster. Alternatively you can add this field under Collection Design > Advanced options in the Dashboard. Please keep in mind that the spelling is the same as your previously uploaded CSV or XLS file.
Adding images to the CSV or XLS file
In your CSV or XLS file you can add a column named Images. In the first row of this column you can add the URL of your image. If your images are already online, e.g. uploaded and saved in a content management system, on WordPress or in your online shop, simply copy the image URL and paste it into the CSV or XLS file. Please note that the image link has a .jpg or .png at the end.
In the module of your app you will see a corresponding picture of your product.
Alternatively you can do this via your dashboard. This is especially useful if you have saved your images locally on your PC or Mac. In the tab Collection Design > Advanced options add the field Images. Then you can create a product under Collection Items > Add Product, upload your product and manually add an image to it.
Example of a CSV and XLS file in Dashboard
In the tab Collection Items you will find a description text under Add Product. There is also an example of such a file linked with the word this:
"Add your items manually or upload a CSV or XLS file in this format".
You can download this file and view it in Excel or Google Sheets by opening it above or dragging and dropping it.
If you notice that your changes are not displayed, clear your cache (browser history) and try again. Sometimes new updates are not taken over because the old information is still stored in the browser.
